Philadelphia Outfest 2012!

Hi all - we’re back!

We’ll be running around Philadelphia’s Outfest 2012 all day tomorrow (noon to six), so if you’re in the Philadelphia area look for us there! Outfest is the biggest celebration of National Coming Out Day in the world…we’re so excited!

Hi, all! Thank you so much to all you new followers…we’re so glad that you’re interested in our project! This blog will have progress updates, new photos as they come in, and hopefully some LGBTQ news and art.

We’re approaching 50 portraits right now, but we’d love to expand and take as many as possible! We spent a lot of time at LGBTQ events around Philadelphia this summer and had a blast - hopefully we’ll be at Outfest in October, but between now and then (and after too!) we’d love to travel to any and all cities that will have us!

So, awesome queer (LGBTQ and beyond!) people of tumblr - do you want to be part of our project?

The Out Polaroid Project is a series of ‘queer vignettes’ - Polaroid portraits of LGBTQ individuals with handwritten accounts of each person’s thoughts and feelings about queer life. We aim to create snapshots of the diverse beauty of LGBTQ life, and to illustrate how unique the queer experience is to every individual. Eventually we hope to publish a book of the entire collection.
